Aside from Potatoes, what winter veg can I grow that wont just shrivel up in the cold?

Sprouts are the obvious ones, try some for next year, they thrive on a bit of frost.

I like the idea of the purple brocolli! What about carrots? Arent they a winter veg too? Or sweet potato?
Mangoes?
Carrots can stay in the ground during the winter so, yes, you could grow them. Most of the veggies mentioned actually grow in the summer but can be left in the ground over the winter.
