ive had a new combi boiler put in last january, since the weathers turned acooler we put the radiators on last nigh, 3 of them were cold and warm, so i used a bleed key to let air out,
straight after that my boiler flashed up with a fault f37, in the manual it said low pressure we opend the fill loop tap and topped up the boiler to 1.5 pressure,, and the fault code went of,
radiators were red hot, and all seemed ok,
but, now it seems that after the rads have been on the pressure starts to drop again and we have to top up , i dont seem, to see what the prob is,
my boiler is a ferroli domi compact f30 b wall mounted condensing combi
could we have done something wrong by bleeding the radiators help
yes
the waters hot , rads are ok seems to be a bit of a drip from the overflow pipe in garage . into a bucket but only slight, will i need to bleed rads again
only if they go cold, if they do you may have a 'micro leak' the best and safest thing to do is to get the engineer who fitted it to come out to it. thats what you paid them for
i think the answer lies with the drip from the overflow pipe, would explain why the pressure keeps dropping as you dont need to lose much water for it to drop.
it is possible that when you topped the boiler up you didn't fully close off the filling loop so the system has overpressurised, the boiler has dumped the water out of the back via the pressure relief valve and then the valve hasn't closed properly.
your still under the manufacturers warranty so call them in.
by the way, that overflow pipe is meant to go thru an outside wall, potentially if you were in the garage and the pressure relief valve opened up you could be sprayed with scalding hot water.
hi thanks
the pipe goes out thru the side wall of house into a garage, the pipe is facing downover so water would hit flor, i, gonna get thhe fitter back out
the drip is tiny, like ud have to touch pipe and feel water,
the water can come out with considerale force though and can then rebound and spray everywhere, it would class as a poor installation to leave it like that
I have experienced my boiler dumping hot water thru the overflow into my garden. It gushed all over the path and I'm glad I wasn't on the path at the time...
I have a Ferroli. And have had the fault code you have blondie. And much more besides. My rads were not hot tho. Let's hope you only have a leak to worry about. That was what was originally assumed when my new system starting playing up. Ferroli was very reluctant to consider that one of their boilers may actually be faulty. After a long battle, a chilly winter - indoors - my fitter demanded a new boiler and the difference is amazing.
the water that came out thru theoverflow was cold, ive since discpvered i was turning the tap the wrong way, i was turning it on more rather than off, as my hands are sore with arthritis i couldent turn it of quick enough, the drips stoped now and the pressure is abck to normal
That's the outlet blondie. It measures a few inches in diameter rather than an inch or so for the overflow. Misty steam coming out of the outlet is normal blondie if the boiler is fired up and heating water for your rads or hot taps....
