45amp switch

Just fitted a 45amp neon lit switch, the red neon light is on regardless of wether the switch is on or not, is this correct ? althoughy everything works fine it doesnt seem quite right to me.

Sounds like you've wired it up backwards, so that the supply source wiring is connected to what should be the connections to the cooker. In this case It would still work, but the neon would always be on.

that was my first thought, but i checked and re checked the connections, although i never did try it the other way...being 6mm twin n earth its a pig to juggle around...
will check it again..
