Cordless power drills.

There are so many on the market from �30 to �300. I want one at a reasonable price and quaility. Advice greatly appreciated. Cheers.

DO you want a hammer action....how much will you use it? Professional ones (usually over �100) are designed to be used on a daily/hourly basis. Our local hardware shops says a domestic is designed to be used only 4 hours A YEAR. so it does rather depend on how much you will use it. I recently purchased a McKellar 24V hammer action drill. It is heavy but I have found it to be up to the task of all my DIY projects. I purchased mine for around �65 (I thinK) from focus.

May I add that I've owned 3 so far and one problem with more expensive drills is that the battery charger is very expensive compared to the cost of the drill itself. Of the 3 I've owned, the battery charger failed on 2 and it was actually less expensive to buy a new drill than try to replace the charger...

I bought an 18v hammer (cordless) along with a corded hammer, made by JCB, in a kit for about �70 in Argos. I'm not a professional, but they've taken a fair wack, and are still going.

Forgot to say - mine came with two batteries - I really recommend having a spare battery - so many times I have gone to start a program to find I have got half way through before needing to change the battery.
