Hi. I have had a gas fire installed by a corgi registered plumber. The pilot lights, and stays on, but when you turn the fire on the flames die out,and the pilot goes out.He has checked everything out,but is baffled, any theories. Thanks John.
My Mum had a gas fire which you had to hold the dial down for about 20-30 seconds before you could let go. I think it was a safety device to stop children lighting the fire.
Your pilot light is not strong enough. When the main burner lights, its dragging it away from the thermocouple causing the fire to go out. Get your plumber to strip the pilot light down and give the injector a good clean.
