We need lighting in our lounge using 100W bulbs especially for reading. However the equivalent low energy bulbs are not sufficient and emit a duller light. As the old type bulbs are to be phased out what is the answer?.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.If a 20W low-energy bulb (which is what is theoretically equivalent to a 100W tungsten bulb) isn't bright enough for you, simply use a 25W low-energy bulb (which is theoretically equivalent to a 125W tungsten bulb). You'll still only be using a quarter of the energy used by your old bulbs:
