following a corporate jolly off to le Mans last year, a whole bus full of us missed our flights back from France. The French air show or something was on so it was difficult to find rooms for us all but the company who paid for us found somewhere at 11pm. The rooms were grotty to say the least. The walls of loo smeared with things we didnt want to contemplate, the shower had mould, the only food in place was a vending machine with microwave meals and the beds couldnt have been changed for months, so bad were the stains.
Mr CRX and I ended up covering the bed wih our towels and sleeping fully clothed. We refusd to shower as thought we'd be dirtier when we got out.

We are all too 'Brisith' for our own good - we moan to each other, and not to the people whio can do something about it - the owners.
You should inspect any room before checking in - unless it's a reputable hotel chain where a level of cleanliness and service can be presumed. If the room is not up to standard, as to be shown an alternative, and if none is availanble, looe elsewhere.
If we continue to put up with lousy accomodation without complaining, everything stays the same.
