I want to replace an Expelair extractor with a cooker hood; I note that you buy the flue kit separately, and that there are different sizes (diameters). At the moment there is a 203mm diameter hole in my wall; the flue kits are smaller than this, is it a case of running a smaller diameter flexible flue through this hole? I was hoping to use the existing Expelair grill on the outside wall.

You can still use the exterior grille, if it is a 4" vent you are going to install, I would use a small piece of soil pipe to vent through the wall, take it flush to the exterior grille then back fill the remaining hole that is left.
