Primark Towels
44 Answers
I have lots of towels from Primark, which have now gone rather rough and I want to buy some new ones. Is it false economy to buy cheaper towels, do they all go hard over a couple of years? I always use conditioner etc. by the way, I think they are just getting old and I wash them a lot.

We use Fabric Conditioner, but tumble drying is important for retaining softness too. I find the cheaper ones, even with tumble drying are never soft.

I love primark towels - I think they are great quality. You don't use fabric softner when washing towels as this interferes with their absorbency. Either finish drying them for a few minutes in a tumble drier or iron them with a steam iron to refluff them. But actually, a rougher towel is better for you as it exfoliates and invigorates as well as dries your skin.
Ooh I must stop putting conditioner in with my towels then (she says having just done her weekend towel washing!).
I always do mine in the tumble dryer as they come out all soft and fluffy and lovely.
When I lived with my ex we had this crappy built in one in the washing machine and it just never did the job properly and missed a proper tumble dryer so much and very glad to have one back now :)

I have to agree with Velvetee. Unfortunately, cheaper towels don't usually keep their softness and fluffiness for as long as the more expensive type.
I have to say that I've always used fabric conditioner, and I have some towels which my mother gave to me, which're over 20 year's old - still as soft and good as ever! They DO need to go in a tumble dryer though, because otherwise they get stiff and coarse after a while.

I just knew your post would be a funny one no.k when I spotted it over there >>> ;o}
Nice to relax & wind down on here after a busy day!
As for towels, I've always used conditioner on them & all the washing. Also, after bringing them in from the line, I still pop them into the tumble for a few min's on cool, just to give them that extra little softness.

Changing the subject ever so slightly. I find the claims of Bold 2 in 1 being a fabrisc softener as well as a washing powder to be absolute rubbish. i use it cos I like it . But I always use a fabric softener as well. I always use fabric softener on my towels And I tumble dry them as well. Am I mad?
