For some time the flow of water has continued after switching off - presently about 50 seconds. A couple of years ago I posted this on answerbank and one reply suggested it was probably the solenoid valve sticking. Can I 'unstick' this valve myself, or is it a job for a plumber? Thanks for any advice.

are you really considering repairing a shower that is twelve years old?
when you are forced to replace it you will wish you had replaced earlier because the new one will be so good, especially in comparison to the old one
screwfix have a triton 8.5 kw electric one for 54 for sale at the moment, although i would purchase a 9kw or 10.5 kw for a better flow rate

Thanks Terence, but the shower works perfectly well except for the niggle mentioned. In fact, I found the date of purchase and it is only 9 years old, not twelve.
