garden lilly?

My garden lilly is in a pot where it gets a lot sun but now it's turned colder it's gone really brown and is dieing. Is this what should happen or should i put it into the ground? I'm not even sure if it's a perennial...

Yes, it will die down now. (I move my lillies in pots to a sheltered part of the garden, next to the house). Next spring move it back to a brighter spot once it hopefully starts to grow.

I have lillies in pots. You should let them die down-do not cut them. Put the pot in a sheltered place outside and in the spring remove the dead stems and your lillies will flower again and each year you will get more flowers.
