Price charged by garage
5 Answers
I've just dropped my car in at the garage (main dealer) for its annual service. I checked on their website for the cost and the same information is also on the wall of the service dept at the garage (a huge poster). They had however written the amount (about 25 more) on the service forms that I had to sign and when I queried it they said 'oh those prices are out of date'
Are there any legal issues with this? Can they advertise one price and then charge me another?
TIA

I can't believe that volt4m4x is correct.
A shop most assuredly does not have to honour an advertised price. The contract is concluded at the till and they can change the price to whatever they like right up to the point of processing the sale. Can't see any reason why a garage wouldn't be the same.

I think you should call trading standards.
Contact your local council to find out what number to call.
It's not right they can charge a different amount to what advertising.
Think of all those people that sign without checking-they're taking extra money unwillingly.
Try get some pics and print of internet as TS with need evidence.
So did you sign or dispute the extra 25?
