My cyclamen which I was given as a gift at Christmas is/was fuschia coloured and the petals are now turning purple. It is in a warm place but subject to frequent draughts intermittently. What is the problem? Anybody know?
The draughts will eventually kill the plant. If it is a mini it will be better in a cooler position - outdoors is favourite. Remember also having moved the plant to a draught - free position to only water from the bottom, so as to keep the stems dry, as a fleshy sort of plant let it go on the dry side between watering, and when in the vicinity have positive thoughts , this last tip applies to all your plants ecept plastic examples!!.
pink petals turning purple just means they are old and finished. This is normal for cyclamen and they will just continue to push up new flower stems. Remove the old ones to encourage more.
