Are these generally cheaper to run than convector heaters? I live in an old house with high ceilings, if that helps.

I have a Delonghi oil-filled radiator and it is cheap to run compared with say, an electric fan heater. I find the heat they give off much better as well, not so dry. I used to work for a penny-pinching employer who used to leave 2 oil-filled radiators on in the premises overnight so they must be cheap to run or he would have had us all freeze!

That's the best endorsement I could ever imagine : a cheap pikey employer!! If it's good enough for them then my mind's made up :-)
