Repeated Question ! Growing Star Anise - Illicium verum

Has anyone managed to grow a star anise tree? I have heard they are similar to the magnolia family etc. Can anyone offer any advice as to how best to grow one, where you could buy a small one etc?

i havnt grown one but they are frost hardy and evergreen go to the bbc gardeners world site  and they will locate you one to buy, as it is highly likely you will need a tree specialist nursery,i do know you will need to plant it in moist well drained soil in partial shade, the gardening magazines have adresses of tree specialists so you should be able to get one best of luck  mullein
