I would try painting the doors with an eggshell gloss, finish or using an aerosol paint. At least they would be more uniform in texture and the same colour. Normal gloss is too shiny and emulsion would just flake after a while. Good luck
Hi pahun, there are paints on the market to do this just go to one of the big DIY stores and you will find them. Another way to do it is to cover them with Fablon or Fablon plus which gives a harder wearing finish than Fablon. It takes a bit of work to put on properly but the finish is good and you dont get smell of paint which some people are not to keen on. Which ever you decide on make sure all grease and grime is off them first as neither of them will stick properly otherwise. Good luck.
International Furniture and Cupboard paint with Teflon surface protector is made for use on melamine and MDF kitchen cupboards. There's no need for a primer or undercoat and it covers in one coat. Have a look on www.international-paints.co.uk for some ideas. Both B&Q and Homebase stock it.
Have you checked with the landlord that you are allowed to do anything with cupboards belonging to the property?
