Dull darkwood furniture

Hello. I am decorating my bedroom and with moving the darkwood furniture had noticed how dull it is looking. It also has a lot of little knock and scratches. What can I use to 'refresh' the wood.

My Mum used to wipe the furniture down with vinegar and water to clean it. Then she put a little beeswax on a cloth and buffed it up.
