Price for a replacement window

To avoid being conned would any of you like to give me a rough idea of how much I should be expected to pay for a fitted replacement uVPC bathroom window? Size 3ft x 2ft 6ins.

In the south I would expect �300 for all. Bearing in mind it'll last a life-time that's cheap. 3 days work + window.

there are glazing adverts in our local papers (merseyside) and one of the offers they have is a window �195 fitted. I would think that will be set to a maximum size.

We're doing a house up and we used myhammer.co.uk and the quotes came to us, or at least gave us an idea as to what we could expect. I also sent out a load of emails which I found on the websites of our local glaziers giving the dimensions and they were all around the same give or take 10%.

Don't forget to tell them it's for a bathroom as it'll need to be obscure glass, which I guess must cost more.

I don't think it'd be 3 days work either btw, next door to us has just had the whole front of the house fitted with 5 x UPVC windows from old rotten wood ones. They started when we went to work at 8.30am and were done when we got home at 6pm! Also, friend of ours works at a glazing company and he said they usually charges �150 per window just to fit it!!

are you sure you dont mean 3 hours work ?..assuming theres no probems ie access or older type house a decent fitter would do it in less than 2 hours. + cost of the window , i would expect to pay �200-�300 all in,
Whatever you do avoid the big companys they are just so overpriced and a small window like this is not rocket science any local reputable builder/company could do it in fact any good DIYer could do it.
(wait for it!! someone is bound to mention building regs)

I was thinking more your price Chas208- around �200 - it is a small window, and shouldn;t need regualtory approval as it's a replacement for a woodend one that has rotted at the bottom.
I would have a go at it myself but it's upstairs and backs onto a sloping kitchen roof , so could be tricky.

ooooooo...uuuuummm....back, slippery, wood to PVC....hummmm lots of brick cutting-in, lentles, supports, renting & erecting scaffold etc. Insurance v.expensive....last a life time �3k.

If it does come back at that sort of price - l'll just board it up- at least it will be obscured and nobody will see it anyway!!
