Hi all,

I've recently had the house painted but the spray left a fine coat of white paint on our tarmac driveway.

Does anybody know if there's a way of removing this or anyway of covering it.

What works best and how much is it likely to cost?

Surely the party who did the painting must have some responsibility ??

He gave me a discount on the price and apologised but it still doesn't solve my problem!

was the discount enough to get a professional to clean it off tho? bit of cheek if he didnt make sure it was covered then not cover the cost of cleaning it

The question now is, how far are you prepared to go??
the responsibility lay with the painter. The painter cannot avoid this by giving you a discount unless, as weeal asks, the discount covers the cost of restoring the drive to its former glory.
In your shoes I would get a price to have your drive cleaned / coated. If there is a difference between the possible cost of this and the discount you should then ask the painter for the difference or that he(?) puts it right.
You also have recourse to the small claims court - that depends how far you want to go.

Well he's also a distant relation who has very little work on at the moment so thats also one of the reasons why we gave him the job.

Now back to the origianal Question!!

Does anybody know how to remove paint from tarmac then???

find out the type of paint or plastic you can then find a solvent for the stuff and wipe or scrub the stuff of the drive!
It is not difficult just requires some work if it is a large area
divide it up and do a bit each day

You can probably go over it with a bitumen paint.(when it has been dry for a few days).
