I am trying to get rid of the smell in a freezer which was switched off and left with food in it for weeks.
I gave it a good scrub but there is still a smell lingering.
I had a similar problem with a fridge but I shifted that pong by giving it a good clean followed by leaving 2 halves of a lemon in it. Doesn't seem to work on the freezer though.
All suggestions welcome.
Thanks.

I suggest you scrub it out with a solution of Bicarbonate of soda,
you just have to keep at it. i left some meat in the freezer compartment in our caravan for a few weeks so had to deal with a similar problem. after giving it a good clean out with flash with bleach spray, i gave it a good wipe over each day with an antibacterial spray, and left the freezer door open in between to allow it to air which i think is important. the smell did eventually go away.

Thanks mjwman - I will try the bicarbonate of soda. How do you make up the solution?
