I have just cut down 2 trees in my garden but now I need to get rid of them. I have cut them into (fairly) manageable pieces but they are taking up so much room! I have put as much as I can into my recycling bin but this will probably take me months! Any suggestions? (By the way, I am in North London)

Don't you know somebody who has a wood log fire, who can store it a couple of years? That's unless they're evergreens.

Our council will only take tree branches up to about 1'' thick for recycling. This is because anything thicker won't turn into compost. The thicker stuff has to go into the General Waste skip at the local amenity site.

Freecycle. Someone in that system will take them off your hands.

Wish I knew somebody that could use the logs............tried Freecycle.

a quick check on yell.com found tree felling experts and tree surgeons in north london. would they take the wood away ?

Only if I paid them..........and it's not cheap! Thanks for the suggestion though.

Is your part of North London just north of the river or just South or the M25?

do you have a garden, if so hire a chipper and use the chippings around your garden
