Morning all.
Besides the obvious, what keeps dust at bay, im sick of cleaning my glass shelves only to find 5 minutes later, another layer of it. What about a humidifier would this work?
Happy easter to all

If you are like us and live on clay soil with the windows open, then the house will get dusty. We also have dogs who run in and out and bring it in with them. Be careful with ionisers, they don't get rid of the dust, just make it settle out of the air usually near the ioniser, which can mark the wall. Have never forgotten holidaying in an area with sandy soil, couldn't believe that we spent a week on hols and I didn't have to dust once!
Dust will be here long after we've all gone unfortunately. I find the only way of keeping on top of it is to keep all surfaces as clear of clutter as possible and run a damp microfibre cloth over them regularly. (and draw the curtains so that the sun doesn't shine through them and highlight the mess !)
What causes the most dust are carpets. Take them up and you'll notice the difference. It's incredible how much dust is in a carpet and every time you walk over it you disturb it. This is the reason why we find more dust lower in the room than higher up.
The dustiest rooms are the bedrooms because as mentioned above our dead skin cells are rubbed off by the sheets and when we make the beds it flies everywhere.
By using an anti-static polish you'll reduce the amount of dust on the glass shelves.
