Guarantor - Paying rent?
I am in the process of renting a flat through an estate agents. As I am on a low income they require a guarantor. This is not a problem.
But they have just told me that they require the guarantor to pay the rent. Is this legal as this will cause me problems??

A guarantor is a person who signs an agreement to pay (in your case the rent), if you fail to pay it. A person who agrees to stand as guarantor for you, must have complete confidence that you won't let them down, as if you do then the money will have to come out of their pocket.
Hi sweetie
This may help you, but have you tried ringing a property solictor for advice over the phone....should'nt cost you anything as you are only enquiring.
