If properties have the right of access through the back of your property does this give them the right to use the access for entering their houses all the time or is it just a right of access for them to reach their garden e.g for tools and gardening equipment etc

It may help to check what your property deeds say about it. My neighbour had ''right of access'' for stated purposes, like attending to repairs, maintenance, window cleaning, etc. But this did not give her ''right of way'' through my property. In my case, though I never did so, it was within my rights for each occasion of ''right of access'' to be by previous arrangement, and at a time convenient to me.
