New allotment - what can I sow
Hi - I live in the midlands and have been lucky enough to get an allotment - I thought I would have to wait until next year so do not have anything prepared to plant - what can you suggest that I put in at this time of year - I have a row of autumn king carrot ! I think the land may be a bit acid as it has mares tail on it - have cleared about a third so far - any suggestions very much appreciated. Many thanks.

Most seeds sown in this heat simply wont germinate or will quickly die. The dreaded mares tail is a nightmare to erradicate so I would keep working on that as much as you can in the hope of getting a better start next spring.
