Accommodation in Paris

Right, I need some help from anyone in the know.

I am starting an internship in Paris on 1st September, have not yet found anywhere to live. The job is in Levallois-Perret but I am looking to live anywhere in Paris that is within relatively easy commuting distance as long as it is a safe-ish area, with good amenities.

Ideally I would be looking for a flatshare from September to January and would like to live with French people/person to improve my French but would also be happy to find a studio flat for just myself.

CAN ANYONE HELP AT ALL? Any contacts in Paris? I know this is a longshot but I am getting desperate!

I have tried numerous websites: appartager, fusac, pap, etc but it seems hard to pin anyone down to anything.
