Help with Gerbera plant

Hello everyone,

I bought a lovely Gerbera plant and I think I've accidentally drowned it!

I have been putting it outside (when sunny and dry) in the hope this will dry it out quickly but now fungus has appeared! Will using a hairdryer on it aid its recovery?

I'm usually very good with plants and I'm very disappointed with myself over this. I'd be very grateful for any tips and advice you might have.

Many thanks.

Just say a prayer and bury it.
It sounds like the plant's got Botrytis, if there is more rot than plant dispose of it, if there is some plant alive put it in a sheltered, dry spot and don't think of watering it .If you're lucky it will perk up, if not dispose of this also.

Hi Nonomaybe,

Thanks for your answer. I have put it in the greenhouse and left strict instructions not to water it. Fingers crossed it will recover.

Thanks again.
