I am trying to fit a new corner basin in my downstairs loo, the only leak I have is from the metal plug hole part of the waste http://www.bathstore.com/_application/bathstor e/products/basins/corner-basins/ it comes with 2 white soft sealing washers but it still leaks, is there any compound that can be used with modern plumbing which would help, I have plumbers mate but not sure if it should be used these days, the leak is not from the thread but from where the seals are
bit late but plumbers mate every time never sets, sticks to metal and ceramics, scroll down to basins as kia cat posted, let it squeeze out , put surplus back into tub then clean off with turps hth Tez
you are right, I know there is tension from the sink to the waste outlet because I was trying to fit a new sink and use the existing outlet thru the wall, since I finished it I have realised a better way, don't I always, but have stopped the leak anyway now
thanks all the same
