I installed new windows about two years ago and they came with a protective plastic film . Over a period of time I forgot to remove this film and it has become baked on with the sun. I have tried almost everything to remove it but with no success. Any ideas anyone ?

I would but the company has since gone out of business so I`m snookered again !
Have you tried solvents such as white spirit, meths or petrol?
Question Author
I have`nt tried petrol ..... would that not be dangerous ??
Just try a bit on a piece of old cloth, in an area that wont be noticed. PS...don't smoke or have any naked flames around you.
You could also try nail polish remover.
Oh, it's that sort of "windows" problem!

Nothing for me here then :)

(have you, carefully, tried a scraper BTW, one of these

I`ve just tried the petrol with a hard plasttic brush and it seems to be the best cure so far but very tedious ! Thank you all for your ideas ! (Only another 12 windows to go ! )
