Question for my friend, pse. She is growing this veg in her greenhouse. She has loads of leaf growth and flowers forming, but when a small squash appears it only grows about 2 inches, starts to turn black and drops off. She has had probs with white fly. Any suggestions, pse?

I've had the same problem with mine. I was advised to pinch-out the growing tips from all the plant, & hey presto I've got a fruit about 6" long. BTW, mine are outdoor plants.

Thank you. I will suggest that to her.
Try hand pollination, use an earbud and transfer pollen from the male flowers to the female flowers. This cured my similar problem.
