We have a problem with a spare matress that was kept in a dmp room, didnt know the room was damp at the time, matress now still smells slightly of damp. Thai is after approx a year in a bone dry room and after being dragged into the open air on several occasions.
Any any ideas how we can get rid of the smell please?

Have you tried using loads of febreeze. It may take two or three treatments, but it worked on some musty curtains we had
The febreeze should work fine but if the smell is eminating from inside the mattress spraying wont help. Remove the gun from the bottle and put your thumb over the neck and sprinkle liberally letting the liquid soak in, use a whole bottle if need be, and allow to dry over a few days. I did this after urine had saturated a mattress and began to stink. It worked a treat.
