I have several heathers which I bought for my ericaceous border last year They have just finished blooming and are looking rather leggy I would appreciate some advice on the pruning

I also have some lavender in another bed which I inherited it is rather woody at the base but flowered this year How do I prune this?

Many thanks kjsgran

treat both plants the same, take a pair of shears to them and give them a good haicut, its always worked with mine, although lavenders can outgrow their strength, and if allowed to get too tall it maybe hard to get them back in shape, they also dont live for ever so if you will be left with o lot of dead wood it may be best to buy new ones.
