Are there any guidelines on how to arrange your bedroom layout?

Mine is north facing, and if you stand with your back to the window, the door is at about 1 o'clock.   Should I arrange the bed so that the headboard is against the wall in which the door is set, or should I face the door when I'm in bed?   Or doesn't it matter?

(Cannot face the window, as the headboard would be against the radiator)

Personally, I think it's all hype. I wonder what homeless people & tramps who sleep on park benches, would think of Feng Shui?
Ansteyg, very succinctly sums it all up.

Hmmm, interesting!   I've no particular time for it either, just wondered if people preferred to sleep facing a door or facing away from it
Don't know about feng shui but it's supposed to be very bad luck to have your feet facing a door, something to do with the dead being carried out of the house feet first. I'm not superstitious but when my children were small I would  never dream of carrying them out of a room feet first. Don't know if this is a Scots or Irish superstition.
