its hard to say if you will be wasting your money or not i did a herbalist course that cost me 350 and to be quite honest i could have learned it from a book..if i had applied myself at the time..the certificate i got is of no use to me as you have to train to doctors standards to prescribe herbal medicine,,i did enjoy doing it but i have since learned more myself from hands on research..doing a home study course is lonely and you have no one to ask questions of,,also their are a lot of people advertising such courses that are only interested in the money,,i would have a seriouse think and see if you purchased books and tried to redecorate one room at a time if you could learn more yourself..i also did 3 tarot courses at home but i was working in that area at the time so i found them interesting..i was also recently thinking of doing another herbalist course this time more on the gardening side but i have thought a lot about it and i know that its pointless as i have lots of books and probably allready know most things..i think at the time i just wanted the motivation what a course can give you...but i can put the money to different uses..hope you do what is right for you...gypsy
Can you not do a course at a local college part time for a fraction of the cost?

I have just seen an interior design course advertised in BBC Good Homes Magazine Page 153 reduced from 450 to 39!  www.nda.ac.uk

Check the small print ....
Interior design is not a time wasting thing. It's a great way for earning the extra money. If you enjoy designing rooms, you can go through the various designing material including the lighting fixture.
