How much does a tumble dryer cost?
11 Answers
I didn't know which heading to place this under. The tumble dryer is in my daughter's shed and it is not possible to see the plate on which is written the wattage etc, It is a Creda, But assuming the highest wattage it could be, how much does it cost an hour to run? An approximate cost would be enough. It is because I occasionally borrow it in this weather and we argue a bit as to its running cost. I reckon about 20 pence for an hour!!

I am howling with laughter here over the previous postings. I was on the phone with my brother as I read them just now and he (being the wag that he is) said in response to Barb7771's comment that she could not believe that my daughter charged me to use her tumble dryer etc... said "tell her her husband charges you to mow your lawn". The thing is, my daughter is generous to a fault and was mortified when I read out Barb's comment. Then when I read the latr ones, I realised that she would have a fit. Actually it was not that I was going to pay for the electricity, merely I was wondering if it was putting up their electric bill and by how much.
Joggerjayne's offer nearly made me choke (with laughter) at the thought of my daughter's face were she to read it because she is so generous - more than anyone I know and bought me a robot vacuum cleaner for Christmas, having already bought me a washing machine earlier in the year which was supposed to be for both birthday and Christmas. She is amazing - if you only knew... I love that way these threads spin off into a whole new subject.
Cheers Ruth.
