'Ranking' no.1 on a search engines means very little with regard to a site's trustworthiness, so don't take that as a sign of relaiability.
Which? closed their scheme last year, but there are some alternatives: imrg hallmark, trustUK and safebuy.
I would be happy to spend money with the website you alluded to. They have a reasonably professional looking site and appear to have been around for a while. Not sure what malpractice you are worried about, but if you purchase with a credit card not only are you not responsible for any fraudulent activity but you probably also have a guarantee on the goods - check your CC small print. Also, if they are authorised dealers for a specific brand, then any grievances can be taken up with the manufacturer.
