Do any of you remember "Bronco" and "Izal"
26 Answers
the shiny, greaseproof, tracing paper type of toilet roll. What was that all about? It was all that was available for years well into the 1960's. To my amazement I actually saw some rolls on sale in a Morrisons or Tesco (can't remember which) only last year. I almost bought one for a joke. Would any of you use greaseproof paper to wipe up a spill on a kirchen work surface? 'Nuff said!

I can remember in the 1940's using an outside lavatory, wooden seat and no flush mechanism. We did use torn up squares of newspaper for wiping I seem to remember. That was during and still just after the second world war, so may be excused (pun intended). Moved house when still really young but can just remember yelling for Mum to come and wipe etc.
