No, you get what you pay for,

Cheap paint will not cover as good as a good named paint

Cheap houshold items like washing up liquid is not as good as say Fairy, cheap razors will cut your face to ribbons whereas a Mach 3 wont

Cheap tools are cr@p and won`t last as long
here's a relevant quote from Terry Pratchett:-

"The reason the rich were so rich, Vimes reasoned, was because they managed to spend less money. Take boots, for example. He earned thirty-eight dollars a month plus allowances. A really good pair of leather boots cost fifty dollars. But an affordable pair of boots, which were sort of OK for a season or two and then leaked like hell when the cardboard gave out, cost about ten dollars. Those were the kind of boots Vimes always bought, and wore until the soles were so thin that he could tell where he was in the city on a foggy night by the feel of the cobbles.

But the thing was that good boots lasted for years and years. A man who could afford fifty dollars had a pair of boots that'd still be keeping his feet dry in ten years' time, while a poor man who could only afford cheap boots would have spent a hundred dollars on boots in the same time and would still have wet feet. This was the Captain Samuel Vimes "Boots" theory of socioeconomic unfairness."
Difference between cheap and economy brands I think and I tend not to buy the latter.

I tend to believe you pay for quality but would buy a shops own brand (not economy) over a named brand if I was happy they were just as good.

I also love ebay and amazon for a bargain.
Well, mush, the boots would only last as long as he could afford to get them repaired surely!
Cheap paint - the coverage isn't generally as good on *one* application. However, if you buy sufficient quantities and have the time to take over applying two/three coats then I find that there is precious little difference.

Cheap household items - I think it depends on what they are and how long you could reasonably expect *any* brand to last.

Cheap tools - Again, it depends on whether you have an immediate project in mind.
I often go round to one of the various 'pound-shops' and buy a packet of 4 paint-brushes. I just make sure I pick any loose bristles off the paintwork and then throw the brushes away when the job is done.........no turps or splashing paint-water over the kitchen sink.
I do that with paint brushes except my 'dulex corner brush' which is brilliant.

Paint rollers.....I would pay someone £4.99 to clean them for me..!!

Certain items you can't really go cheap on. Washing up liquid and toilet paper.
"Is cheap as cheap as you think it is?"

Not all the time, sometimes you could run into a real bargain. But, usually you get what you pay for.
Society not being cheeky but why do you need to repeat the question every time you answer ?
Good for you Cab, you've noticed. :-)
i used to think so till i bought dulux paint at the weekend ,i used a third of the paint i used last time so no go for the good stuff will save you money in the long run ,
