Limescale around bottom of taps

How can I get rid of limescale build up around the bottom of kitchen stainless steel taps. Tried Limelite and that just took off the patterern on the work top next to them.

Soak some cotton buds in white vinegar. Put in a sandwich bag and then over the taps making sure the cotton buds cover the area. Tie with an elastic band. How long it takes is trial and error.

My taps are fastened to the sink and washbasin so i just use a knife to scrape it away then finish with some Jif.

soak some cotton wool in vinegar, wrap it around the bottom of the tap so the effected area is covered, leave for a few hours and then just rinse off.

Lemon juice works the same as vinegar and the smell is better

I saw that tip with the vinegar/lemon juice on tv on that show with Kim and Aggie - unfortunately I couldn't quite remember it and got a bit confused, so I mixed lemon juice & vinegar with baking soda into a paste and put it on - it did work, but i am sure that was supposed to be good for something else - I need to pay more attention!
