I need to fill some biggish (not huge!) pots to give my garden a bit of colour - what does anyone suggest? Is it a bit late for bedding plants as they are past their best?

Echinacea plants always look bright and cheery and bees LOVE them

perhaps more suitable for a border though, i'm not sure - i'm not a gardener - i tend to just stick things in and hope for the best :)
it is not too late for bedding plants. Go for something like Fuchsiaa or New Guinea Impatiens which will flower until the first frosts. Now is a good time to buy as you will get loads of bargains.
All depends where you live; north of Scotland compared to South of England and also if your pots will be in full sun or in the shade...

Thanks all for your answers, I have noticed there are a few bargains about now, as well as the plants at the fetes.
