I am looking for a cheaper telephone line rental package

I only make a few telephone calls a month and the line rental with BT is £15 a month, so I wondered if some other company did it cheaper.
I also have Call Barring at £4 a month and Choose To Refuse at £3.35 a month which I would still like to have if I went to another company.
Can anyone advise me of a good telephone package?

Buy a cheap mobile phone from ASDA. Calls 8 pence per minute, Texts 4 pence each. No line rental. No V.A.T. No connection charges. No unwanted Sales calls for PVC windows at meal times. Much cheaper than a land line and only people you like can have your phone number.
Some can also act as an alarm clock, a note pad or a camera, etc.

The problem with a 'mobile only' solution, as suggested by Wak, is that (unless you've also got a laptop with a dongle) you'll lose your internet connection.

That's a good link, Chris. I'm with Virgin cable at the moment for TV, Broadband and phone and could be interested in that set-up myself. It looks good.
