Builder and the crew: that kitchen makeover!
Morning team! that ongoing kitchen. Door are looking fine to the store cupboard, despite having to make my own, I'll post a pic when the paint's dry..
Next task I have & need your inspiration for is the understairs space. see pics: http://yfrog.com/4bimage0201pj and http://yfrog.com/edimage0200zj.
The powers that be [the missus] wants it boxed in. The dims are 55 inches across the floor, 65 inches high [tallest] and 19 inches at the shortest. it's about 3 foot deep. It'll need access at the short part where the small cupboard is, plus for the tumble drier. Finally I'm hoping the tallest bit will accomodate upright vacuum, brooms, ironing board etc. Would 3 separate doors work? Just trying to think of something that'll be easish to make, inexpensive and yet look tidy. somethng like this [but with vertical uprights!]

Hi Kia........... the three doors look like a good way to go. The middle door would have to be wider than the others to get the drier in and out. I guess the drier doesn't need an outlet .......... condensing type?
2 x 2, or more correctly, 47 x 47mm planed. That's what I usually use.
Incidentally, the frame you're making up is officially known as a "spandrel" ......... absolutely no use at all knowing that ............ but it might come up in a pub quiz :o)

The tumble drier is vented to the outside. For the middle door [where the tumble drier is] I'd need an upright to take the hinges. As I don't want to drill though the vinyl floor, would an upright "L" shaped bit of wood be sturdy enough for the hinges if I used construction gripfix type glue on it's base? Or would I be better off with a frame going into the void - as sort of spandrel within a spandrel - if you get my drift? The other burning question; cut the doors horizontally [middle and right hand one] or go with the void shape? Hope all this makes sense. Thanks

I should think the simplest way would be to make a 2 x 2 frame to fill the space and hang the three doors from that. The bottom rail could be bedded on a bead of silicone if you didn't want to fix through the vinyl. If you ever need to remove it, silicone would come off the vinyl more cleanly than Gripfil or glue.
You could have rectangluar doors with a triangular fixed infill panel above each one, but I think that might look a bit fussy. I think your sketch is the way to go ....... three "pointy" doors. You could also think about using kitchen cupboard hinges. That way the hinges would be hidden and there would be no need for catches. It's just another way of doing it.
