Hi everyone. I recently failed to grow some potatoes, but managed to grow potato seeds.. If I plant them, will I get potatoes next year, or when should I plant them?? (or will they not do anything (again!)
Thanks

Did you start with seed potatoes and where and in what did you plant them. Did the plants grow at all or did the shy little chaps simply hide completely. Or did you get massive amounts of greenery and a crop of little seeds alone?
I certainly wouldn't advise you to grow from the seed it's usually very disappointing, especially as the seed tubers are usually so cheap and reliable.
More info please.

I didn't know it was possible to grow from seed but if it is the plant would not be the same as the mother plant. The plant would have had to have been fertilised by another plant which could have come from miles away. In fact it could possibly be a potato/tomato or deadly nightshade hybrid if that is possible. You know of course potato apples from which you presumeably got the seed is poisonous.
I'm beginning to wonder if you are really talking about seed or maybe are referring to very small tubers. Please clarify. !
