i planted a raspberry plant this summer

do i need to do anything to prep it for winter? it is already 6 foot flowered but no fruit this year

no expert, you need sqad for that, but i believe you dont get fruit until next year. not sure it should be 6ft. maybe needs pruned, someone will be able to advise.

Its best not to let raspberries fruit in the first year anyway, tempting as it is, that way it can get established ready for next year. Cut the canes down to about 1ft and you will get strong new growth ready to fruit next year.
