Brown residue from dishwasher?

Hello all.
My Bosch dishwasher has just started leaving brown residue (a bit like small splashes of coffee) and a white 'film' over my cleaned and dried items.
Does anybody have any idea what might be causing it?

Something corroding in the machine .. like a pump, sump or seal reinforcement.
Check around carefully.
