Adhesive to repair a toilet lid?
What adhesive can I use to repair a hinge on a toilet seat. The lid of the toilet is self-closing but one side has pulled away from the lid. The hinge bit is made up of some kind of metal that has a chrome finish. It has a "tongue" that protrudes and fits into a blind slot on the lid which is a hard white plastic substance.
When it first failed I used Araldite extra strong to repair it put it has failed again.
Suggestions please.

If this is the case you will have to abrade the shiny chrome finish to get a mechanical 'key' for the glue. Use coarse sandpaper or a file. If you can manage a few grooves at right angles to the line of 'pull' then even better. Use the araldite again and make sure that the socket is dry.
