Do this for as many times as you'll want until you've done the desired amount of back stitch. So you'll be doing a forward stitch, turn around forward stitch, turn around and forward, get my drift...
hi Im a seamstress and its not easy to use a machine with no reverse but you can take work off machine bring last stitch through to front so that you have 2 threads on same side then knot the 2 together strongly. To make something funky why not try make up bags for your friends in funky fabric or denim or cover a paper basket with pretty fabric for their bedrooms both are dead easy only using straight fabric. there is a good book about soft furnishings that is cheap or you can get it from the library. one tip though dont try making clothes until you are a bit more experienced, they are hard and you will get down hearted. stick to simple things for now if you need any help just let me know, good luck diane
