I recently purchased some of the above for my bathroom to replace the 4 GU10 halogen bulbs (50 watts each !!!!!). The LEDs (3 watts each !!!) give a lovely crisp blue, white light.
They were up for a few weeks when i noticed some of the LEDs within the cluster on one bulb had gone out. There are about 35 LEDs to a bulb and 1/3 to 1/2 were not working. The next day, they came back on again but the same happened to a different bulb.
This has been happenning for a number of weeks now and in the end, all 4 bulbs had some of the LEDs not working.
last night, 2 of the bulbs packed up completely.
Any suggestions ? They are definately rated for mains 240v supply, not 12v.
I'd take them back and ask for replacements or refund (hope you still have receipt!).
By coincidence, from today (Thurs) , Lidl have these same lamps, 3W LED GU10, at £5.99 each and state a bulb life of 25,000 hours.
I have been having the same problem for over a year now, and must have spent a fortune on bulbs. I tried the cheap ones at first and gradually built up to the more expensive ones, but they all kept blowing. In the end I decided to buy a low wattage, so purchased some 20W bulbs. This was 2 weeks ago, and they are all still working.
Well, if you get them from Lidl and you do have problems with them, at least you'll get your money back with no problems. They are £5.99 each and have a choice of four different fitting-types.
