pop up or easy set up xmas tree's

ok so my step mum and dad both elderly want to get a new xmas tree and it seems to make sense to get one thats really easy to put up, because this is often the reason they never put the tree up. I can see me having to put it up anyway but on future years if Im not about they can do it.

I have looked at the pop up trees online and they look nothing like trees just weird shaped cones, does anyone know of any simply fold out types about 5ft?

I have found (hinged) trees on amazon but they are not cheap, wanted one for at least under £40-50

Has anyone got a pre-lit tree surely they are already well built out of the box otherwise how is it all wired together? I just don't want one in which each branch is separate.

yes I've looked there because I find argos very handy, but the pop ups look shocking and the trees in general don't really say' easy build' or any thing, how many parts or how it assembles?? At this rate I will be putting their tree up every year! lol

I really want to have a bare branch pre-lit tree this year, just for a change!........think they may be easy to assemble.................. not everyone's taste!.............but I think they look great!....may be an idea!............

Asda have an ad running on TV showing fair discounts on pre-lit trees. They'll have them on display instore to let you make your mind up.

the old people are probably traditional tree people, I myself don't like the bare branch they look at bit dead and non- homely, a bit cold. Fashionable though can't fault them for that.

The worst are def. upside down trees pmsl what the hell......

They don't like real trees they want something they don't have to bother with. And I don't live anywhere near to maintain it.

Hey douglas....yes saw that advert, well if they are in store that's good, I don't see how you can buy a tree without seeing it on display, bit difficult.

thanks jaydah yes they wouldnt need much building should be nearly all in one, just might be a price issue as would like one that looks good even when not lit, a thick green one 5ft, probably not cheap.

Mine is 8' & cost £10 4years ago. Price hasn't changed much as they're in continual production. Changed the halogen bulb once, they cost 3 for £1. Mine switched on after sons birthday on 18th Dec & stays on 24/7 throughout.

When son was 11y he unscrewed bulb on traditional tree to 'switch if off' & got an almighty shock.

They're very safe & fire proofed but I aint risking telling No.1 son that as he's bound to test it - lol
