I want to turn the radiator in my kitchen on a low setting, but have turned the valve, which is located on the right of the radiator, Clockwise. This hasn't worked as the radiator is still heating.

COuld it be anti-clockwise or could it be the valve located on the left?

Thanks

Are you sure it's the valve you are turning?

If so, is the knob turning and the valve not?

Are you just turning a plastic cover that's concealing the valve underneath?

Without a pic of your rad. it's hard to say.

... and it'd be clockwise.

Hi, I bought a plastic cover for it today, placed it on top and turned. It does seem to turn as, as it shows resistance.

The radiator is a standard rad with valve.
Are you sure it's a thermostatic rad valve (TRV)? (With numbers 1-5 marked)
If not, then you might just be adjusting the lockshield valve that's there to balance the rads in the system. It'll restrict the flow alright, but it's a crude and random way of controlling the rad.

HI Builder.
No it's not got a Thermostatic Valve at all. It's just a standard valve.

I've turned it both clockwise and anticlockwise but it does switch-off.
